BERTONE CONCEPT CAR SELLS FOR £400k AT BMW MUSEUM WHERE 22 BMW CLASSIC CARS AND 13 BIKES SELL FOR JUST OVER £1m

The 1969 Bertone 'Spicup' - so called because the unique concept car ingeniously combined 'Spider' and 'Coupe' features on a BMW E3 Saloon platform - sold for 460,000 euros (£400,000) to top the Bonhams results at the BMW Museum in Munich last Saturday. Among several high profile casualties however, the 1976 Le Mans class winning and 1976 Spa 24 Hours overall winning 1973 3.0 CSi/L 'Batmobile' Coupe ran out of track with the 325,000 euros (£282,609) minimum required not available.
